Hearing Aid Colours

Your hearing aid can blend into your hair colour, or reflect your style — the choice is yours. The colour palettes of our four brands are on this page.

Colours can look different on your screen than in real life; the swatches are an approximate guide. Colour options can vary by model and stock — confirm current colours with our branches.

Which colour suits you?

  • If you'd rather it not show: match your hair colour

For a behind-the-ear device, what matters isn't the colour itself but that it disappears under your hair. Silver tones look natural with grey/white hair, and graphite and brown tones with dark hair.

  • For an in-the-ear device, skin tone is the guide

For ITE/CIC models, choosing close to your skin tone from the beige-brown range is the least noticeable.

  • If you wear glasses

A tone that matches your glasses' arm colour looks tidier behind the ear.

For children it's the opposite: colour is the device's friend

Adults want it to not show; children want it to feel like theirs. A bright colour makes it easier for a child to embrace their device — and easier to find if it falls out. In the Widex Moment palette, Vivid Pink, Mediterranean Turquoise, Sporty Red and Deep Blue exist exactly for this. Choose it together with your child; details on our hearing in children page.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the model. In-canal devices are barely noticeable from the outside; slim behind-the-ear models also look quite discreet when chosen close to your hair and skin colour. Even so, the device suiting your ear and your hearing loss matters more than how it looks.

Colour is usually chosen when the device is ordered. Changing it later isn't possible for every model; on some devices, the body part can be replaced through service. The ear mould can be remade in a different colour if needed. We check what's possible for your model.

The right colour is the one your child will happily wear. Some children take to their device more easily in a bright colour, others prefer a tone close to their hair or skin. A bright colour can also make the device easier to find if it falls out. Available colours vary by brand and model; we can show you the options together with your child.

Within the same model and technology level, colour only changes the look; it doesn't change hearing performance. However, not every colour is available in every body or technology option. We check the right combination before ordering.
